Discovery Beach Zinfandel Rose

After the Zinfandel grapes are harvested, a "cap and drain" method is used which allows the wine to be in contact with the skins for 6 hours before pressing. It gives the wine a darker colour as well as extracting a greater amount of fruit flavours which is evident in the ripe watermelon, strawberry and cherry that is experienced on the palate. This wine has a balance of floral character, sweetness and crisp acidity. Perfectly fine on its own but if accompanied with food try Pepperoni Pizza or a Hamburger with pickled relish and yellow mustard. Or scallops over linguini is also a good match.
