Catalonia, Spain - 14% abv
 
A powerful, deep and distinctly mineral red. This wine shows a dark ruby core with garnet and bluish hues at the rim. On the nose, it delivers intense aromas of red and black fruits (wild strawberries, blackberries), layered with violet florals, toasty oak, spice and subtle earthy / smoky mineral notes from the llicorella slate soils. The palate is full-bodied but with finesse: ripe, elegant tannins, good acidity, a rich texture, and flavours repeating the dark fruit, violet, spice and mineral backbone. There is some oak influence, but well integrated, giving a long, dry, and satisfying finish.
 
This wine can stand up to hearty, flavour-rich food. It works beautifully with grilled or roasted red meat (lamb, beef steaks), game (venison, wild boar), or slow-cooked stews with spicy elements. Also excellent with cured meats (like Iberian ham), strong aged cheeses, and dishes with earthy mushrooms. A dark chocolate dessert could also pair nicely, especially if it echoes the wine’s spice and cocoa-like oak tones.
