Bordeaux, France - 13.5% abv
Château Cos d'Estournel's near-faultless Second Growth. This vintage is a powerful yet poised Saint-Estèphe, blending Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and just a touch of Petit Verdot. It opens with complex aromas of blackcurrant, cedar, graphite, and exotic spice, evolving into hints of tobacco, truffle, and dark chocolate. The palate is full-bodied and structured, with firm yet polished tannins supporting layers of cassis, plum, and earthy minerality. This wine is still youthful, with outstanding aging potential, but even now it is beautifully balanced, it shows great depth and a long, savoury finish that reflects both power and finesse.
This magnificent wine would make an magnificent pairing with roast lamb, beef wellington, or duck breast. It also complements mature cheeses or rich mushroom dishes.
